For me yoga is about self-awareness and exploration. Every time I step onto my yoga mat I have the opportunity to learn more about my body, mind and heart. Through my yoga practice I am able to expand my awareness. I come closer to myself and find contentment with the reality of who I am.
After my very first yoga class in the beginning of the 90’s in Finland I felt myself in a way I had never felt before – in good and in bad. After the class I understood that I don’t really know who I am, that there is more. My yoga practice helps me to evolve and to become more conscious, not only of myself but of the world around me, too. This consciousness lets me see the good in me and around me.
To see the good first is not an easy task for us because – let’s face it – life is not always rainbows and unicorns. Our yoga practice invites us to look deeper in ourselves, where we’d rather not look into. That is the dark sides of ourselves, the dark sides of life. This is our opportunity to grow and evolve from the shadows to the light. In my classes I want to encourage and support people in this process of growth. I teach yoga because it touches me deeply and because I want to celebrate life in all its aspects.
My classes are dynamic, fun and full of anatomical details. The focus lies on the optimal alignment of the body which invites us to stay within and to experience ourselves in the body, mind and heart. As a trained and experienced pedagogue and language teacher I pay a lot of attention to the dynamics of the learning process and despite the complexity of the body alignment my cues are clear and easy to follow.
